About Hall Farm Holiday Cottages

Three stone-built farm cottages set in sweeping mature gardens,with unbroken views across the Peak District countryside. Large multi-use modern indoor facility available (approx 700sqft). A stone’s throw from the impressive Thor’s Cave, and short journey by car to historic towns, such as Bakewell, Chatsworth House and spectacular, renowned sites of natural beauty, including Dovedale, Manifold Valley and The Roaches.

Thor's cave is a popular spectacle for tourists and only a short 15-minute walk away. It is a must see and, as we are the nearest house to the cave, can be appreciated from the comfort of your cottage every morning.

Thor's cave is a popular spectacle for tourists and only a short 15-minute walk away. It is a must see and, as we are the nearest house to the cave, can be appreciated from the comfort of your cottage every morning.

The two-storey stone-walled cottage, part of a former cowshed/hay loft, sleeps five people in two bedrooms. The open plan living space boasts a well-equipped kitchen area including fridge/freezer, electric cooker with hob, coffee machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and all basic kitchen essentials.

There is a dining table with four chairs and comfortable seating area with electric fire, smart TV with access to Netflix, an Alexa echo and a variety of different books and games for all the family.

The two-storey stone-walled cottage, part of a former cowshed/hay loft, sleeps four people in two bedrooms. The open plan living space boasts a well-equipped kitchen area including fridge/freezer, electric cooker with hob, coffee machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and all basic kitchen essentials.

There is a dining table with four chairs and comfortable seating area with electric fire, smart TV with access to Netflix, an Alexa echo and a variety of different books and games for all the family. Upstairs there is one double bedroom and a bunk room. Both bedrooms have fabulous views over the Manifold Valley and have room for a travel cot – which can be provided, with air flow mattress and sheets- if required. The bathroom comprises WC, sink, heated towel rail, bath and an electric shower.

The cottage has a lawn to the front with a seating area overlooking the Manifold Valley.

The fabulous panoramic views that reward climbers who tackle the steep but accessible slope to the summit of Thorpe Cloud make it a popular spot with tourists. There is parking half a mile (of flat paved path) from the stepping stones on or they can be easily reached on foot from the quaint villages of Milldale or Ilam. We fully recommend a visit during your stay.

This stone-walled, single storey cottage (previously called Grindon) was converted from a cow shed, and sleeps three people in two bedrooms. The light and well proportioned open plan living space has spectacular views over the Manifold valley. Dovedale cottage has a well-equipped kitchen area including fridge (please note, no freezer – we do have additional fridge/freezer in the utility barn should guests require this), electric cooker with hob, coffee machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and all basic kitchen essentials. There is a dining table with three chairs and comfortable seating area with electric fire, smart TV with access to Netflix, an Alexa echo and a variety of different books and games for all the family.

There is a small village green and a large playing field with football pitch, zip wire, swings and climbing frame. There is also a lovely tearoom in the village hall. The neighbouring village of Alstonefield is very picturesque, with a 12th Century Church, original well, playing field and lovely play area for younger children.
