The teachers at Vale de Moses trustfully impart their experience of yoga, as personal practitioners and as students. They employ the teachings of many styles, sharing their treasured love of this ancient practice in an earthy, simple, kindly and compassionate manner. Classes can vary from flowing and energetic, inspired by Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow and Dynamic Hatha Yoga to Yin Yoga, focused asana exploration, playful unintimidating partner or Acro Yoga and some quiet contemplation.

Vegetarian and vegan food for yogis. We start the day with warming tea, fruit and nuts before a silent meditation walk in the forest, followed by yoga class. After which we serve a hearty breakfast of rice, millet, quinoa or buckwheat porridge, with fruit salad, toasted nuts and seeds, and freshly squeezed juices. Lunch is the biggest meal of the day when our stomachs are best able to digest. Dinners are light to help us sleep more deeply. Food is plentiful at Vale de Moses.

If yoga asana is your preference, the Shala is open to you for self practice. What that practice entails is entirely up to you, it can be dynamic and strengthening, slow and meditative, still, restful and restorative, or anything else you desire. Moving, or not, with an intuitive awareness, awakening the body, moving inwards and starting the day with kindness and compassion to your own needs.
Perhaps, the forest calls to you in the morning, as the mist is rising and the sun is just greeting us for the day, not yet at its peak heat. If so, take this opportunity to explore. To wander the forest paths, dip into the revitalising waters or to find a place to pause and connect, cocooned in the nourishing energy of the valley.

Location & how to get here
Fly into Lisbon or Porto on the Friday or Saturday if you can, and enjoy time in those charming cities or by the beach before heading up to see us in the mountains on the Sunday afternoon.
