Located on the Bastimentos Island, Ataraxia is a solar powered lodge that offers lush nature right on the edge of the carribean sea. Our jungle, in the past a cocoa plantation, is home to a great variety of wildlife. The local fauna includes sloth, monkeys, anteaters, armadillo, boas, caïmans and a great variety of colorful birds.

Distinctive spaces for connection
Yoga Shala
We put a lot of time into building a really lovely Shala. It has a warm, natural feel. On one side the Shala looks down through the trees and on towards the jungle where we can often spot monkeys and on another side it faces the caribbean sea. It is open on all sides, and with a nice high ceiling there’s a great feeling of space; it can comfortably accommodate 11 students plus a teacher.
We have a good range of yoga equipment and props – mats, blocks & straps all made of cork and eco-friendly 🙂
