During your morning walk you’ll often see birds of prey high up over the area, and in the afternoon the vipers stretch out lazily in the heather between the rocks. In the evening you need to watch out for the ’jylkatte’ - which is the local dialect for ‘porcupines’ - as they emerge from their hiding spots.

Sandvig was originally a fishing and farming village. This is evident from looking at the old farmhouses which today form a charming, integrated part of the town, along with speciality stores, shopping possibilities, cafés and restaurants. The town is well connected by bus to the rest of Bornholm, and by car you can easily get from side to the other.
