In this episode, we are speaking to Co-Founders Cam and Vera about their beautiful venue, the Algarve, and what makes Quinta Camarena a great place to host your next retreat. We also hear more about Cam and Vera the hosts and their amazing journey from Portugal and California to New York and then back to Portugal and how they ultimitely fell in love with Quinta Camarena.

Introduction

A new kind of Rural Tourism. A Nature boutique hotel. A cool guesthouse where you will be received as at a cozy´s friend’s house. It´s difficult to put this place in words… Experience the duality of Alentejo at Quinta Camarena. Here you can relax or play as much as you want! You can be one with nature and the warm community. You can wander and experiment. Gather and celebrate with the ones you love or have your solo traveler experience. There´s always something to do, but you can also do nothing. Breath the fresh air and relax. In this stunning property of 4ha, surrounded by nature, you will have lots of space and feel secluded and safe as if you´re in your private paradise.

Accommodation

You can choose among 3 lodging units: A 4 bedroom small villa that can be rented as a whole or with individual rooms and 2 independent houses. Each one of the 3 units has a fully equipped kitchenette and a living room. All the spaces were thoughtfully curated with art and furniture pieces that we made ourselves or collected among our trips and locally handcrafted pieces. The bedsheets and towels are top quality made in Portugal.

Venue Layout

Amenities

If you want to take a break from the pool and lounge area and find a more secluded spot, we have many areas for you to explore and find a comfortable place to have some ME time. There is a large deck for group activities like yoga meditation dance or whatever you fancy. We also have some smaller more intimate places hidden in the hills to read or have a quiet conversation with whoever is there. We are also located directly on a great hiking route that you can walk for many kilometers. We can also arrange personal care treatments like a yoga class, massages, surf lessons or a group exploration on horseback.

Retreat Spaces

For hosting your retreat we have a beautiful wood deck hidden in the hills surrounded by trees. Here you can host up to 25 people doing yoga or whatever group activities you choose to do. We also have a Bar lounge area near the pool to host gatherings.

Surrounding Area

We are located directly on a great hiking trail which you can walk all the way to the coast where you will find some of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe and with great surf breaks and restaurants you can spend from sunup till sundown. Visit wineries of small family-run businesses and taste some of the best wines in Alentejo.

Getting Around and Points of Interest

Having a car is great for getting around but not required. There are regular busses from Lisbon that stop at the center roundabout in Cercal. From there we are a short 10min walk. So any supplies and needs you may want from town is within walking distance. The busses can also take you to cute towns such as Vila Nova Milfontes, Porto Covo and Santiago do Cacem. We are also located directly on a popular hiking trail that will take you for many kilometers through the beautiful countryside.
