Kate has been teaching yoga for more than 24 years, she holds a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma along with trainings in Ashtanga vinyasa, Scaravelli, Iyengar and Subtle Energy styles among many others. As a Breathology Instructor and Physical Therapist, she conveys anatomical knowledge through deep observation, unravelling compression and tension while creating postural alignment, physical lightness and elasticity through natural movement and breath. Kate has specialised in yoga for senior school students and now offers a range of classes online through the Covid crisis. Kate shares her interest in the mind/body relationship through integrative body meditations, to release the past and embrace the perfect present moment. As a conduit of yoga, breath and movement practices, Kate is interested in the individual experience found through long term commitment to regular practice as well as private sessions. Many of her students have remained learning with her for decades. As a Mother of 3 successful adults and on the brink of Grandmotherhood, Kate believes the key to success with yoga is honouring the changes we experience through life; creating an inner environment of letting go and being open to each new moment; where physiological circulation is of loving information, breathing less and reducing the need to reach an end point yet still finding wholeness in the mind/body experience.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To thrive is such a beautiful concept because it implies firstly an awareness of self-care and from that fertile place incites to blossom, flourish and succeed. Just as a garden of many parts grows with earthly nourishment and tender care, so does the human being. With our roots firmly established in health, people are capable of absolutely anything from the highest endeavour to the most peaceful resolve. Personally, thriving means that each day is dedicated to resonant living both in work and play, a seamless flow of learning and experience, one could say, living yoga.
