Katherine has been practicing yoga for 17 years. She has been competing in distance running for 13 years. Her love for health, movement, peace, stillness, breath and alignment shines through when she is teaching.
Katherine took her first yoga class in 2000 and knew at that very moment she had found something sacred and special. The practice of movement with breath and meditation left her feeling a connection with the divine. She wanted to share this connection with everyone. This connection is something she also experiences when pushing herself to new levels in running. She strives to have running balanced with yoga and yoga balanced with running. Yoga and Running have connected deep in her heart and strengthen her mind.
Katherine completed her first Yoga teacher training in 2002. She has been building on and growing her practice whilst studying and teaching yoga full time in Vancouver. Katherine is passionate about running, training, racing and striving to achieve goals. She created Running Into Yoga retreats and workshops to encourage runners to practice yoga and feel the amazing benefits. The workshops and retreats are also a way to connect like-minded people and build community.
Katherine is a 500 hour Yoga Alliance certified. She completed her 300 hour Yoga Alliance certificate in India at an Ashram with Shelley Tomczyk. India was powerful and left her with a feeling of confidence and inner peace.
Katherine has organized many retreats and workshops, both locally and internationally. She has had the honour to have led classes with Wanderlust Whistler, Pacific Dental Conference, Herschel, Ledcor, Samsung, Seawheeze videos and Lululemon. Working with Westcoast Hot Yoga she created and led their 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training.
Katherine’s classes are safe, fun and playful; with emphasis on alignment and breath. She encourages everyone to find their edge and balance in that space with ease. Katherine is inspired to share her passions with everyone and see how they can be a positive change to everyone's life, and always with the brightest smile on her face!
