Featuring an ornate stone fireplace, original bookcases and plenty of natural light, The Library is the largest of our private function rooms and is a captivating space for any business meeting or event.

The room has a maximum capacity of 120 people for meetings, and 100 people for private corporate dining.

Ideal for presentations, pitches, and small conferences, The Oak Room is a fantastically flexible function space and perfect for medium sized business events.

The room has a maximum capacity of 68 people for meetings, and 60 people for private corporate dining.

In 1591 the estate played host to the Elvetham Entertainment. Arranged for Queen Elizabeth I, the four day spectacle was one of the most exciting and lavish events of her reign.

Our Sylvanus Restaurant is named after one of the mythological creatures from the entertainments grand water pageant, Silvanus, the Roman god of woods, wildlands and pastures. Introducing himself as a devoted servant of Queen Elizabeth, his performance was designed to praise the queen's wise leadership over her land based commanders and naval captains during the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.

Today our Sylvanus Restaurant is a nod towards that memorable performance almost 500 years ago in a hope to keep the tale of that event alive in the history of the English monarchy.

In 1591 the Elvetham estate played host to the Elvetham Entertainment, one of the most exciting & lavish events of Queen Elizabeth I’s reign. In just a few weeks, hundreds of men built a village of luxury accommodation for the queen’s visiting court, dug out & flooded a vast lake to provide a stage from which to entertain her, & laid on every facility for feasting & revelry.

Our Gloriana Bar is inspired by The events of The Elvetham Entertainment and Queen Elizabeth I herself. The name Gloriana originates from a 16th Century poem The Faerie Queen, written by the poet Edmund Spenser, which contains the Character Gloriana who is based on Queen Elizabeth I and depicts her defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. Gloriana then became a popular name given to Queen Elizabeth I.
