Known as @maryscupofteaa on social media, Mary Jelkovsky is a public speaker, published author, and women’s retreat host. She’s lead thousands of women on their journey to healing body-image struggles and finding true, unconditional self-love.

But things weren’t always so sweet for Mary. All of this came from her 8-year battle with an eating disorder that left her feeling lost, lonely, and broken. After finally deciding to heal her body, mind and spirit, Mary started her online platform, Mary’s Cup of Tea, to help women be more confident in their bodies and love themselves unconditionally.

Mary’s story has been featured in places like TEDx, Teen Vogue, and Health Magazine because unfortunately, so many women know what it’s like to hate their bodies. She is committed to changing this trend by empowering people of all shapes and sizes through her social media, online programs, and worldwide self-love retreats.

Now, Mary is sharing her life story and most sought-after advice in my her book, The Gift of Self-Love: A Workbook to Help You Build Confidence, Recognize Your Worth, and Learn to Finally Love Yourself.

When Mary’s not writing, speaking or hosting retreats, she’s spending time with her spunky, confident 11-year-old sister, who is Mary’s biggest inspiration.

Retreat Specialties

My retreats are centered around healing body-image struggles.

Teaching Specialties

My coaching and facilitation style is very calm yet persistent. I love teaching from a place of compassion, vulnerability, and inspiration, but I'm also not afraid to gently call someone out on their bullshit (especially if they're playing small, being unkind to themselves, or struggling to see how worthy they are of everything good in this world). Retreat attendees can expect a retreat that's filled with healing, adventure, and connection.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

Gaia Retreat Center in Ubud, Bali- the staff was wonderful, the food was delicious, and they provided us with everything we need and more. The drivers went above and beyond to make sure we got everywhere safely and the retreat manager because my personal confidant- he even got me diarrhea medication at 3 AM lol!

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To be in full acceptance with who you are and love yourself through the highs, lows, and everything in between.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

My mom was the one who first inspired me to start hosting retreats. When she first suggested it I said, "yeah, yeah, I'll put it on my 5-year plan" and then we ended up executing our first retreat together within 5 months! Also, my little sister is my biggest supporter (even though she is 10 years younger than me- she's 12 and I'm 22). She is so confident, kind, sassy, spunky, wise, and an overall inspiring human. I do everything for her, because I don't want her to grow up in a world where a woman's appearance is valued above all else. I want her to see how beautiful, amazing, and capable she is without spending all that time, energy, and money on trying to change her appearance. I have her name tattooed on my arm: Ilana which means tree in Hebrew. :)
