For 10 years I had solely a home yoga practice. It only took four months from the moment I first stepped into a studio in 2018 to begin my yoga teacher training. I discovered very quickly my love for teaching and connecting with teachers, classmates, and students on a deeper level. A good deal of my 20’s were spent studying holistic nutrition, natural health, yoga, and alternative therapies such as Reiki. With the world desperately needing educators on how we can best care for ourselves, I’m dedicating my next decade to sharing as much knowledge as possible in hopes to cause a ripple effect. My soul comes alive when I get a group of people together to heal, when I laugh until I cry, listening to live music, and when life travels at airplane speed.

Retreat Specialties

Retreats that I've hosted focus on breaking chains that hold you back, such as learned beliefs and behaviors. My wish is for retreat participants to leave feeling lighter and with a sense of happiness in their growth.

Teaching Specialties

Variety. I like to gently take my students outside of their comfort zone, so you will often find chanting, pranayama, and challenging poses in my class. I don’t plan my classes pose by pose because I teach to match the energy of my students. If I walk into a class with all my students in savasana, it’s going to be a gentler flow. If the studio is loud and filled with yang energy, you can expect inversion options throughout class! The goal for my students is for them to feel; truly feel and explore every nook and cranny of their unique body and mind. I understand life isn’t always fair and happy, and that’s why I don’t parade the “positive vibes only” movement. I educate my students on the dangers of suppressed emotions and instead, I give them permission to feel them on and off the mat. I don’t mind if my students aren’t in the same pose that the rest of the class is in, because that shows me they are comfortable and are listening to their body’s needs. That’s exactly what I want for them.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

La Cusingna Lodge - Costa Rica The outdoor yoga space has the best sunsets. I loved the sounds of wildlife at night and the closeness to nature. There's a trail through the jungle to the beach that is only available during low tide. The ocean is beautiful but be careful of the sharp rocks; I still have a piece of barnacle stuck in my finger! The food was fresh, delicious, and grown on-site and the employees were personable and so kind.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?
