Keri Johnson, PhD is a Jivamukti Yoga® teacher, mental health counselor, Daring Way™ facilitator, EMDR and Somatic Experiencing® therapist, and entrepreneur. She is the creator of Rising Strong™ Through the Chakras, an experiential program that weaves together Dr. Brené Brown’s Rising Strong™ process and Chakra Yoga Theory.

Through her private counseling practice - Mindful Therapy with Keri - she offers wholehearted, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based counseling, and guides national and international groups, workshops, and retreats.

She began practicing yoga in her early teens, and it has been a life-long love affair ever since! In her classes, Keri weaves together traditional yoga philosophy with devotion, Sanskrit chanting, breath awareness, invitational language, uplifting music, and dynamic sequencing. Her goal is to inspire students to connect to the present moment through their breath, while mindfully honoring the wisdom of their body in a joyful and supportive way, providing students with a heart-opening and refreshing experience. Her classes are great for those who are looking for an opportunity to turn inward, be guided by their breath, and trust the inner wisdom of their body as they play and flow through well-rounded and robust asana practice.

In addition to studying with her foremost yoga teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life, she also had the honor of training with many contemporary teachers—Shiva Rea; Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, and Suzanne Sterling with Off the Mat, Into the World®; Brock & Krista Cahill; David Williams; and Chelsea Roff with Eat, Breathe, Thrive. Keri humbly bows down to the lotus feet of her teachers for offering the ancient teachings of yoga, while inspiring her to share them with all willing individuals. Keri welcomes all practitioners to come and share the Sacredness of Yoga.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

Spanish Wells, Bahamas - The ocean and beaches were beautiful. It was incredibly supportive in letting go and really receiving the magic of the retreat. Danyasa Eco Retreat, Costa Rica - the location was absolutely spectacular! I loved the yoga deck, the vegan food, and all that we were able to there. It was pure magic!

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

Thrive is the ability to cultivate wholehearted resilience and nervous system regulation in your body, mind, heart, and spirit. Being able to thrive is being able to stay mindful of your radical integrity with a compassionately curious attitude throughout the ebbs and flows of the dance of life.
