Ok, so you want to get personal now? Over the last few years I’ve employed the tactic of “lead with the weird.” It saves the time and energy of superficial formalities, and let’s be honest, do we really give a crap about where someone went to school, what their degree is in, and how many square feet their house is? No. Unless maybe they were going to perform brain surgery on me or a loved one, and even then I’d probably still go with the more compassionate and caring human.

So here it is... I whole-heartedly believe everything starts energetically first and then manifests outward. I believe in past lives and prefer to be human in male form, although I am learning to love and embrace the divine feminine in me. I’ve been a healer in many lives, using many different modalities, even though I’ve fought it for some time this go around. I find earth, especially in its current state, a very challenging place to be, but accept my choice to incarnate here for specific reasons and lessons, and am doing my best to learn them. I believe the human body is absolutely fascinating and possesses all the wisdom we could ever need, yet as we progress we become more and more disconnected from it. I am a witch, an alien, a minion, a child - I am you and you are me, linked by the invisible cord that tethers us to our current human form…

Still reading? Well now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, what most people usually want to know is how I can be so immersed in skydiving and yoga when they seem completely polarizing (much like the previous paragraph). The physical practice (asana) of yoga is only a small part of yoga. At its core, the essence of yoga is to be present. To live in the present, to be immersed in what is currently happening, not reliving the past or worrying about the future. And there’s nothing that forces you to be present like falling out of the sky. It is absolutely impossible for you to worry about your to do list or be mad at someone (believe me, I’ve tried) while plummeting toward the ground, you have no say in the matter.

So what skydiving does inherently, is what yoga helps us work toward voluntarily and willingly. To constantly choose to align and realign back to the present moment over and over again. Then in turn the steadiness and calm of yoga seeps into skydiving. So your adrenaline rush induced state of presence is now calm and serene. There’s no seeking of control, but rather a graceful surrender as you exist in a space that humans aren’t supposed to be. That taste of purity, complete immersion in the moment, is what keeps me returning to the sky and stepping onto my mat, time and time again.

Then how does Reiki fit into the mix you ask? Well basically the Universe smacked me upside the head with it. I always knew that I was meant to help people on a deeper level than teaching yoga would facilitate. Growing up with acupuncture and experiencing the many healing benefits of it, I thought I might go back to school to learn it (still might). But having been burnt out on being the stereotypical, over-achieving Asian in academia, the thought of going back to school full-time is most unappealing. So in the meantime the Universe brought me Reiki. And not only am I able to help people in a way I never knew was possible, but it has also changed me along the way as well… It has opened me up to so much more than I ever thought I could be capable of, it has helped me to empathize in a healthier way and allow myself to feel my own emotions all the way through, to become more compassionate and loving to myself and fellow beings, and also keeps me protected and grounded while holding space for others. It has been the gift I never knew I wanted.

In lieu of this becoming a complete autobiography, I will stop here. If you feel compelled to know more feel free to contact me or schedule a session. And if you have managed to read all the way to the end, trust that there are no accidents, even if you have no idea why you’re still reading and I sound like the craziest person you’ve ever met (I get that a lot). Perhaps you need a healthy dose of crazy, and I would be honored to be your rabbit hole guide.
