Retreat Specialties

I see each person as an individual and welcome openness and courage and honesty so we can best work together in a caring clear evolution.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

I have taught in Costa Rica and Italy but my main focus has been growing Sewall House, my retreat center in Maine- we have been offering small personalized retreats since 1997 and were able to be open during Covid 19 because we are so small- helping people with life’s changes and challenges while laughing, crying, doing yoga, sharing vegetarian lifestyle, meditating, getting on the lake or into the woods on hikes; we are off the beaten path in a tiny New England town, like stepping back into a simpler time- and I have worked to restore the home to embrace and comfort guests with their own private rooms, sauna, massage, jacuzzi and an inviting wrap around porch. We offer a feeling of family and, as one of our first teacher training graduates said, “coming home”.(this includes 2 cats and a dog! ) Our retreats are ongoing but the writing workshops (my memoir Balancing with Bunions was published in 2019) annually and the teacher training immersions are 2 of our specialized offerings- all small and personalized.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To thrive means to live in alertness and awareness, to learn something new each day, to truly feel all of life’s ups and downs and to be a loving understanding contributor to others and our planet.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

All my teachers- Yogi Bhajan, Iyengar instructor Genny Kapuler, Dharma Mittra, Eddie Stern and every student - also the wonderful staff over the years who have shared my mission as karma yogis to serve others. I want to also say my ancestors, especially my great grandfather, who hosted and healed Teddy Roosevelt in Sewall House..his knowledge of nature he learned from the local Native Americans is something that means a lot to me, as nature and animal causes are a big part of my life and the retreat too.
