Dez Stephens is the Founder + CEO of Radiant Coaches Academy (a division of Radiant Health Institute) – a prominent international coach training school that certifies individuals to create vibrant, professional, private practices as holistic life coaches, wellness coaches and business coaches. She is a certified + credentialed coach, master trainer and marketing strategist.

She shines as a holistic retreat facilitator who helps her attendees develop their intuition and ethical entrepreneurship. She co-facilitates Indigenous sacred circles and Supreme Self-Care and life-purpose experiences.

Dez is a humanitarian coach, social entrepreneur, peoples advocate and planetary activist.

Radiant Coaches Academy enhances lives through special events, holistic coach training and through the publication of books written by the academy’s coaches. The publications, available on Amazon, inspire readers to navigate life stages through reflection and growth.

The academy is currently training coaches in Central America, the United States and South Africa and is expanding its international training locations. The academy aims to facilitate human growth and prosperity by focusing on quality of life, holistic pursuits and personal empowerment.

Dez has coached professionally since 2005, and in 2012, founded Radiant Coaches Academy and has trained and certified nearly 500 students in 10 countries. In 2014, her training school earned the prestigious status of offering accredited hours through the International Coach Federation (ICF). In 2017, ICF of Tennessee honored her and her institute with the PRISM Award for the advancement of the coaching profession.

She received her life coach certification from Guiding Mindful Change in 2005 and also holds an Associate Certified Coach credential through ICF.

In addition to her roles as an educator and trainer, Dez is an impassioned advocate, volunteer and activist. Since her youth, she has volunteered for environmental, humanitarian and animal causes.

She is proud to volunteer as a Team Lead for EthicalCoach, a nonprofit organization providing a bridge between world-class coaches and international nonprofit organizations – developing their Resource Center and serving on their Growth & Sustainability committee.

Dez has a business degree and has worked in marketing for various start-up companies, nonprofits, healthcare corporations and in the entertainment industry. Before launching Radiant Health Institute, she worked as a professional business coach, both as a sole proprietor and for organizations.

Dez is a former board member of Penuel Ridge Retreat Center, the Yoga Society of Nashville and Tennessee’s chapter of the International Coach Federation. She currently serves as a member-at-large for the nonprofit organization, The Rooted Bridge.

For nearly a decade, she has worked pro-bono as an Inmate Partner for Better Decisions at the Tennessee Prison for Women. She also has served as a life-skills educator for Thistle Farms which serves women survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction.

In Honduras, Radiant Coaches Academy has donated over $1,000,000 of training there. In this developing nation, the training provides job opportunities to impoverished and under-employed citizens.

Newly trained coaches in Honduras earn a sustainable living by extending their income base through online coaching. Several trainees in Honduras have formed their own professional coaching organization to provide corporate and pro-bono coaching. Dez is the recipient of ICF-Tennessee’s “Prism Award” for her humanitarian work in Honduras.

The academy’s work in Honduras has also resulted in the co-founding of an official nonprofit organization. The Melanie Gissell Foundation assists Hondurans who have lost precious family members. This nonprofit is also co-founded by two of the academy’s graduates – a married couple who lost their daughter in a tragic car accident when she was 10. Dez has also been named an Honorary Member of the Melanie Gissell Foundation.

Radiant Coaches Academy has established an educational initiative for high school students, school administrators and teachers named RISE – Radiant Initiatives for Sustainable Education – to provide coaching, mentoring, training and leadership development.

Dez is passionate and sincere in helping people live more meaningful lives. She is a dedicated global humanitarian and social entrepreneur.

Dez is co-executive producer of the documentary film, “End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock” highlighting Native women fighting to keep clean water on their Native lands in North Dakota and beyond. She is also co-executive producer of the upcoming “Sacred Foods” TV series.

As a business coach, she enjoys coaching entrepreneurs and small businesses, using her innate talent for creating innovative approaches for promotion and for birthing brilliant, achievable ideas. She also has a knack for originating memorable concepts, business names and taglines for her clients.

Students can expect a compassionate facilitator who guides them as they recover and remember who they truly are.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

Copan, Honduras, at Hacienda San Lucas, near the ruins - haciendasanlucas.com - The retreat center outdoor yoga space (open-air platform) is built on top of an ancient feminine temple overlooking a deep valley. The Maya say that this very spot is where the veil is the thinnest on the planet. The food is outstanding. There are fertility toad statues the size of cars from 300 A.D. or so on the property along with a local artisan village. The casitas are comfortable and the nearby town is quaint with some of the most significant ruins to tour. Franklin, Tennessee, at Big East Fork - bigeastfork.com - The nearly 2,000 acre property is exquisite with nearly 20 buildings for lodging and an overlook of three ridges where some of the oldest rock formations are in North America, including a sacred stone circle and human-made lake.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

Thriving, to me, is about doing exactly what you want to do in life based on your true deep desires.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

The Native American elder I work alongside has inspired me the most. His name is Strong Heart Bear - strongheartbear.com. He helps me understand the sacred work of circles and the power of pregnant pauses. He teaches me the ancient wisdom he holds and the strength of thousands of years of Indigenous teachings. His presence alone is tremendously healing. I also look up to co-retreat facilitator, Shannon Kring, for her insight and keen spiritual awareness. She helps me understand the importance of the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine at work within retreat settings. ShannonKring.com
