My classes and retreats are challenging at times, yet peaceful, supportive and fun. I put my heart and soul into my teaching, which I offer up with authenticity, energy and humour. I began my exploration of yoga whilst travelling in Asia in the mid '90's, have been teaching for almost 20 years, have trained yoga teachers for 10 of those but am used to having a wide range of abilities in my classes and retreats. My style has many influences and I believe is a good balance between dynamic flow and peaceful stillness and alignment. I enjoy being creative with my sequencing and postures, and love incorporating meditation and the traditional spirituality and philosophy of yoga into my teaching.
It is my intention to encourage my students to become more skillful & insightful; to improve your physical practice and experience the spiritual essence of yoga. To feel more at ease with yourself and the world and to find your peaceful centre which is always there beneath the surface.

Don't try to over-control everything that happens in life and make it a certain way... instead, challenge yourself to control the way you respond to what's happening... be more unconditional with love for yourself, others and for life right here and now.

Retreat Specialties

Love teaching a mix of experienced/yoga teachers + more beginner/less physically able on my retreats. Lots of options so everyone can work at their level and ability and explore and deepen their understanding and practice. Lots of meditation and pranayama too..

Teaching Specialties

Flowing but not moving too quickly. Safe and skilful alignment, without being dry and static. Working dynamically yet mindfully and incorporating yoga philosophy and spirituality. A seriously playful balance and blend of doing and not doing; effort and relaxation; strength and softness. Work on improving your practice but with acceptance for what is... to challenge yourself but stay relaxed. Feel more at ease with yourself and the world and to find your peaceful centre which is always there beneath the surface.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

Ashiyana in north Goa and Bamboo retreat in South Goa India. I teach 2 separate back to back retreats in February (probably not happening this year because of Covid) when it is cold and grey in the UK and it is sunny, warm and on the beach in the motherland of yoga! I have also enjoyed teaching at In Sabina and Locanda Della Quercia Calante in Italy - food and countryside amazing! Also Itha108 in Greece for the food, stunning scenery and peaceful vibe

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To enjoy life and be able to grow, develop, prosper and flourish as a human being.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

They say behind every 'great' man there is a 'great' woman... so I have to mention the immeasurable influence of my partner of almost 30 years and the mother to our two lovely children - my wife Jennie. I have had many influential teachers but the main one for me is Simon Low who was my mentor for many years.
