I am a passionate Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness teacher based in Norfolk (UK) where I run my own yoga business/studio, (The Bhuti Yoga Retreat Studio). This is where I offer most of my retreats as the studio is set in 2 acres of peaceful Norfolk countryside. I also offer weekend retreats in the UK. My ethos focuses on a holistic approach to health and wellbeing by offering various styles of yoga classes, workshops and retreats and private appointments and classes. I am very passionate about health and wellbeing and I truly care about my client's/student's health and wellbeing. I want to help my clients escape from the challenges and stressors of daily life. I want to encourage them to feel a sense of calm as they enter the grounds of the retreat and the studio. I offer various yoga classes, meditation and mindfulness. Classes to suit all abilities. Private appointments available, Corporate yoga, special celebration events e.g. Birthdays, hen parties, or bespoke mini weekend retreats. I also offer virtual classes and events. My aim is to please and make sure my clients experience is a special one.

I offer therapeutic yoga where I work closely with clients with varying degrees of mental, emotional, physiological, musculoskeletal, trauma and debilitating health issues. I offer chair yoga for those who are less mobile and regular restorative and yoga nidra classes for those wanting a gentle restorative and nurturing practice. Equally, I enjoy teaching and practicing the more energetic styles of yoga such as vinyasa and I like to infuse a little fun into my teaching and classes. Life can be too serious so I like to see my students smile and not take themselves or life too seriously. I want my teaching and my studio to give students the feeling of getting away from the humdrum of life their problems and concerns for a while.

I believe one size does not fit all and that yoga should be all inclusive and for every ‘body’ regardless of age, experience etc. I have a particular interest in ‘Women’s health’ and offer ‘yoga for menopause’ workshops and retreats. There is no style of yoga that is 'better' than another; it’s simply a matter of personal preference. More important than any style is the student-teacher relationship. I encourage you to try a various classes and styles of yoga to discover what best serves you. If you are unsure then we are here to help and offer our expertise, please ask, we are very happy to help. As I have a lot of experience working in Corporate organisations as a Learning and Development Consultant and Health and Wellbeing Lead, I also advise organisations on their employee’s ‘health and wellbeing’ employee programmes.

For me, yoga is not just about the physical aspects of yoga, practice goes so much deeper, yoga is a discipline, a way of life. I base my teachings on the origins of yoga, the philosophical texts that underpin the true purpose of yoga. These texts can teach us so much and serve as a guide or checklist on how to live our lives, with compassion and gratitude, to live in the present and find balance in life and use what is learnt on the yoga mat and take it into everyday life.

When I opened the studio in June 2017, my vision was to create a safe and tranquil place where people could feel included, a place where everyone could experience and grow through mind-body practices, in a safe, secure, friendly and non-judgmental environment, inclusive of age, size, gender, race, religion, fitness, ability, diet and lifestyle. I feel I have achieved this but of course you can discover this for yourselves.

I am also a qualified workplace and Life Coach, I help get my clients on track and to make the changes they long to make to transform their lives. I offer a professional but friendly service and have many years of experience, knowledge and wisdom and a proven track record in getting results.

Retreat Specialties

My retreats are popular because people attending feel a sense of community but also have the time to be on their own if they wish. People feel looked after, nourished and nurtured mind and body. They leave feeling totally refreshed, relaxed and ready to face life's challenges with a box of tools and of yoga techniques and practices that they can continue to use for their own self care.

Teaching Specialties

Someone who is approachable, listens, is authentic, intuitive to people's needs, has empathy, has wisdom and experience, passionate about yoga, encouraging, honest, trusting, patience, non-judgemental and understanding.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

I have visited a number of retreats and it is difficult for me to say which was a favourite. Running my own retreats I tend to favour the smaller private venues as they have so much more of a community feel. When I consider the retreats I have been to, it has been a mixture of venue, location and the teachers, the format and structure, company of other students and the food that makes special. Running my own retreats I love to collaborate with other holistic health professionals and to share our knowledge and expertise in making the retreats as interesting as possible but also allowing for lots of time to rest and recharge their batteries.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To flourish and live a happy, healthy and balanced life.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

This is a difficult question as there have been so many teachers I have been in the presence of and I have learned some gems from all of them but some that spring to mind and who I practiced with for many years are; My BWY teacher whom I did my teacher training with Vonnie Bloom. My Iyengar teacher John Claxton with whom I practised and studied yoga for many years. Hayley Winter Hatha Yoga and Yoga for Sports Science. Judith Hanson Lasater for restorative yoga. John Scott for Ashtanga yoga. Tanja Mickwitz for vinyasa yoga and Goddess Yoga Sarah Powers and Bernie Clark for Yin yoga Uma Dinsmore-Tuli for Yoga Nidra Jambo Troung for Forrest Yoga The above are some of the teachers that have inspired and influence me in my teaching but there are many more teachers too that have has an impact on my practice and teaching as I continue my journey.
