Originally from Japan, Akari Tamura is Yoga Teacher, Kirtan Leader and Multi-Instrumentalist. The foundation of her offerings of yoga and music lies in her devotion to the path of Bhakti Yoga. Her Sankalpa, the most heart-felt prayer, is to serve the Lord, the One, the God, the personal and impersonal Absolute Truth. Akari has a unique way to inspire people from all backgrounds and transmit embodied wisdom from the heart.

Akari currently teaches yoga and shares her practice both on-site and online at One Yoga (Thailand). Besides, Akari is also a Kirtan leader with decade’s long background of classical piano study. She has released several music albums and a Mantra Song Book 108. She often travels to Europe in the summer to share yoga and music, and to India for her self-study.

Akari’s dharma (soul purpose) is to help to elevate the consciousness of humanity towards expansive love of our true nature through practice of yoga, art of music, power of intentions, and a path of Bhakti Yoga. Walking on this yogic path with gratitude, Akari is passionate to share the beauty of cherishing the most intimate relationship within each one of us – between me and the Divine. Home is where thy heart is.

To become the channel of light (Pure Consciousness) in the lotus flowers (7 chakras) unfolding is the highest vision!

Teaching Specialties

"Akari, thank you so much for all your wonderful lessons. I love the way you teach, you have helped me notice my subtle energy, open up and listen to my heart. And you have inspired me to teach according to my personality, according to what resonates with my heart. You are the absolute master in making things sound easy, whilst they are very hard, like holding (even simple) poses for a longer period of time or doing a wheel pose or head stand without any trace of the pose in your voice. Thank you for incorporating Mudra's and Mantras in your teachings, and speaking directly to my heart and subtle body. Thank you for all the experiences and insights I noticed during your lessons. Namaste, and until we meet again. Love." ~ Michelle Hoogwout (from Online 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Course)
