Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?
Diane Bell my first teacher. She follows her dreams she dreamt to make a movie, she did full independently and won an award on Sundance Film Festival. Her first movie ever!!! Nick Evans, Nick inspired me to become a yoga teacher, he would always engage with us as students on a personal level, listen to our stories, struggles and always share his wisdom. Sharath Jois is my asana teacher who honoured me ton become a teacher. he is very dedicated to his students and his practice and a great inspiration. Hojung Audenaerde, she was one of my early day teachers, she was teaching in a very subtle and quiet manner, I would say I do too as I enjoyed her style. Paul Dallaghan, I did my YTT with him in 2011 and he got me very inspired to take chanting to the next level, ever since I have had a chanting practice and been studying one on one with my teacher in Mysore. Dena Kingsberg, she is a strong lady, who teaches with tough love, she knows how to push me in my practice but simply not too far, but enough. She teaches philosophy and shares her perspective on the scriptures in such a poetic manner. Sharmila Desai, she is my asana teacher in Goa. Her feminine approach to the very Yang masculine practice is simply so beautiful. Matthew Sweeney taught me the moon and lion sequence, which compliments my ashtanga practice in a very fulfilling way. He is a source of knowledge for a broad spectrum of yoga.
