As a teenager, Roli rebelled against all things spiritual or religious, a complete non-believer, for disbelief is the first step in wanting to know the truth.

After college, she worked 3 travel jobs, dabbled in travel blogging and running a business – experimenting to see what sticks. Eventually, Yoga found Roli (in that order), and she realized it was for life. ‘Never before I experienced so much satisfaction in my work’, she says. ‘To see people’s faces lighting up after a class, especially the ones who never believed in Yoga or that anything can heal them, is a very special feeling.’

Roli’s approach to teaching Yoga is ‘Sacredly Individual’. ‘To give the foundational understanding of Yoga and the self is of utmost importance, so people can choose what is right for them out of the myriad techniques in Yoga.’

With an intensive training of 1200 plus hours and her experience in teaching Yoga therapy, she is equipped with various popular and secret Yogic techniques that are life-transforming.

Her positive energy, passion for Yoga and gentleness is what she is known for in her classes. ‘Self-love is the only way out and Yoga gives you the ultimate tools for it,’ Roli says, ‘Be gentle with yourself and persevere.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To 'Thrive' is to maintain physical and mental alertness and peace on a daily basis. It means knowing and accepting oneself in love and help people do the same. To 'Thrive' is to be able to live in abundance - material and spiritual and be centered in every situation.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

There is not one name that I hold anymore, as of now, who I look up to. A lot of Gurus inspire me from time to time, some of the names are - Pravrajika Divyanandaprana, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Sivananda Saraswati. I also learn immensely from animals and nature, precious lessons of how to co-exist with everything, without being a burden.
