One of the reasons for initially practicing Yoga was due to having on-going back problems. Also with a hectic working life, being stuck behind a desk most days, I needed something to help balance my lifestyle and get me moving and also help free my mind from any tension. I started my Yoga journey with Kundalini Yoga mainly for it's calming and meditation benefits to help ease the stresses of everyday life, and through exploring various types of Yoga I found that I resonated also with Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga and so I furthered my learnings. Realising and appreciating each day how amazing both my mind and body felt after each practice, Yoga became a daily ritual. With no more back problems, feeling more naturally calm, my body and mind are stronger than ever and I've not looked back since.
Having practiced Yoga for over 15 years, I qualified with my first Yoga Teacher Training Certification in 2011, with further trainings taken thereafter with various teachers that I have had the privilege to train with all around the world whilst travelling and living in India, Thailand, Bali, Sri Lanka and in the UK. I also teach Meditation and incorporate it into my classes. Training and learning never stops for me and is an ongoing journey.
Being drawn to natural healing methods, I felt a calling to study Reiki and I am now a Reiki Level 2 Therapist which allows me to share the power of natural healing through energy channelling; a treatment that encourages both emotional and physical healing and is truly beneficial to all.
Originally based in London, UK, NishaYoga began after having realised how amazing it feels to share with others the all over goodness of the practice of Yoga and to teach what I have learnt and am continually learning. I love being able to help others begin and continue with their own Yoga journey.
With regular students each week at my London classes over the past years, I have taken my teaching internationally instructing at hotels, resorts and Yoga shalas whilst also organising my own Yoga Holidays in beautiful locations around the world.
Hosting my own Yoga Holidays came about from both my main passions - Yoga and travelling. Realising I was discovering so many amazing places in the countries I visited and lived in, it became clear that I had to share what I knew, saw and learnt with others hence combining the two by offering these unique NishaYoga Holidays. All my Yoga Holidays come with personal knowledge and experience of the locations they are held at as I have either lived there or visited numerous times and so I am lucky enough to be able to call these beautiful places home and therefore share some of the best things about them with you on a NishaYoga Holiday.
