Everything I have learnt I try to bring that across to students in a safe, creative, accessible, and empowering way. Yoga has brought balance to my life in so many ways, physically, mentally, and energetically. I believe Yoga can give us the tools to get the most out of life and be comfortable with discomfort all sorts. I am honoured to assist others in discovering this for themselves.

I was first drawn to Yoga while I was in high school. Thinking Yoga would be a great balance to my passions of riding horses and fitness training. It didn’t take long for me to find out how many more benefits I would receive beyond the physical ones. I took Yoga teacher training in 2010 Trinity Yoga Centre (A Kripalu affiliate school) in Kelowna BC, Canada and it became my full time job shortly after. I also completed my SUP Yoga teacher training with SUP Vancouver in 2012. I have had the privilege to practice and train in many styles of Yoga since then and discover what Yoga is for me and how to create an inclusive experience for my students.

I love being inspired and sponge up any opportunity to learn. So, in 2017 I embarked on an intensive journey to accomplish my 300hr advanced teacher training with Lila Vinyasa. This course was just what I needed to push my practice and offering as a teacher. The people I met along this journey lit up my life I feel grateful to have spent several weeks immersed in Yoga teachings with the most cohesive group I could have imagined. The requirements for this course have challenged me on every level and I am continually working towards completing the post requisites and elevate my offerings.

Horses and paddle-boarding have been such a passion of mine while living in the Okanagan. So I was extremely excited to be able to offer classes not only in Kelowna but, at Yukon’s Edge Yoga retreat. This retreat, which we started in 2017, has been one of my dreams come true. It includes all of my passions. Yoga, horseback riding, SUP yoga, healthy food, local wine and one of the most stunning and remote valleys in British Columbia. The retreat offers an unplugged environment where guests get to be at one with nature and reset their nervous systems.

I hope by living these teachings I can enhance my life and the life of others.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Marianne Williamson

Retreat Specialties

Our location is probably the most unique thing. It is a fly-in only lodge located in one of the gorgeous valleys of the Muskwa Kechika Area in Northern British Columbia. Far from power lines and cell phone range, our eco-friendly cabins are run primarily on solar and wind power, while our vast organic garden and greenhouse provide a large portion of our colourful, fresh meals.

Teaching Specialties

I strive to offer a safe environment. By safe, I mean safe yoga instruction yes, but more than that I want my students to feel safe enough to dig deep and develop a stronger relationship to the Self. To feel supported by the space I create and the vulnerability I bring into the practice. We all deserve to be heard and seen. I aim to provide that to all of my students.

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

Scoop Lake Outdoors - British Columbia Canada - Yukon's Edge Yoga Retreat. A fly-in only lodges located in one of the gorgeous valleys of the Muskwa Kechika Area in Northern British Columbia Canada. The mountain air are pristine lakes made me feel so alive. Every activity from horseback riding, paddleboarding, forest walks, swimming, fishing, melting away tension in the cordwood sauna and swinging in a hammock on the beach was perfection. Cozy cabins and home-cooked meals paired with local BC wine was the icing on the cake.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

Thriving to me is the ability to go with the flow and falling in love with yourself over and over again.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

I look up to my students the most! Learning from them and forcing myself out of my comfort zone so that they can too has been life-changing. My teacher Clara Roberts- OSs has been the biggest and most inspiring influence in the past several years. Along with the Cary family with whom I co-host Yukons Edge. Cary's put faith in me to bring their vision to life. I feel incredibly privileged to work with them to make the retreat better and better every year.
