"Leanne was first introduced to yoga at the age of 16 but it wasn’t until she was in her 20’s that she started to understand the true meaning of yoga. Once delving deeper into her practice Leanne started to apply the foundations into her daily life. From there it was like a ripple effect, allowing the teachings to transform her life, way of thinking and choices she made. For Leanne this practice has been a humbling process, constantly helping her evolve and unravel, learn and re learn and is something she is so grateful to be able to share with the world.

Leanne has completed over 500 hours of training in Canada and Nicaragua. She has trainings in vinyasa, sup yoga, yin yoga, as well as Thai fusion massage. Leanne’s teaching style emphasizes on mindful alignment and connection to breath, while moving you through a loving mix of strength & fluidity on the mat. With her natural tendency to nurture, she is dedicated to holding a safe and comforting space for her students to evolve physically, emotionally and spiritually through this practice.

Leanne is based in Kimberley, BC and is the proud founder of Drift Yoga, facilitating unforgettable retreats to help restore your mind, body and soul. Leanne has traveled around the world to Italy, Nicaragua and even Peru to host her yoga retreats. Drift Yoga aims to create a space where we can come together as a community to share, reconnect, inspire and uplift one another to open up to our most truthful and authentic selves."

"Live your daily life in a way that you never lose yourself. When you are carried away with your worries, fears, cravings, anger, and desire, you run away from yourself and you lose yourself. The practice is always to go back to oneself." - Thich Nhat Hanh

What are your favorite Retreat Venues around the world

KiCHIC Boutique Hotel in Mancora, Peru. This venue was by far the most magical location Leanne has facilitated a Drift Yoga Retreat at. From the moment you stepped foot on the property you were swept away into complete bliss. The attention to detail throughout the entire property and from the staff never went unnoticed. They created an atmosphere that allowed you to unwind almost immediately and offered a tranquil setting for the group to come together, learn, share and open up to the full experience.

What's your personal definition of what it means to thrive?

To be able to live each day authentically. Finding the joy and love in every little moment of your life.

Who do you look up to ? Who has helped you the most along your teacher / retreat leader journey?

Leanne has had the privilege of learning from a number of teachers around the world who have all offered inspiration and helped her grow into the teacher she is today. Leanne continues to learn and re-learn every single day throughout this journey. Although there are many teachers who continue to inspire Leanne daily, one of her most profound trainings took place in Nicaragua with Meghan Currie. It was through her natural tendency to share stories, open up authentically and hold a space for you to find your true voice as a teacher. It was a truly humbling, emotional and transformational experience!
