Yoga is my first love when it comes to daily spiritual practice. I first tried yoga because I loved to travel and India was my next travel destination at the time in 1997. That trip to India was delayed until 2004 because I became so enamoured with Yoga and how good it made me feel. At the time, there were only 2 Yoga studios in Vancouver and I took my first training over 9 months at Prana Yoga & Zen Centre in Yaletown. I have since studied Yoga in India at Atma Vikasa, Yin Yoga & Meditation with Sarah Powers and Yoga Nidra with Stasia Bliss. Reflecting on where I am today in my life is all the inspiration I need when it comes to planning a Yoga Retreat. After attending many Meditation Retreats, I really understand the preciousness of time away with yourself, to take care of yourself, and find out again through your practice what you need to reset and thrive. Most recently I taught a retreat with my retreat partner Jayme Burke at Casa Tara Retreat Centre in Cabo. I love planning a retreat with a partner and tossing around ideas that really light us up. Jayme and I both love to choose a higher end Retreat Centre location, with a spa for the guests, studio loaded with props, nourishing fresh food and lovely staff. Organizing a Yoga Retreat that includes the above is such a pleasure to offer to our students. I love being with the students and observing their experience throughout the Retreat, knowing they are giving themselves a special gift of time away to rest, grow, expand, whatever it might be, that is what I love to be apart of on Retreat and knowing my teaching may add to their expansion in any way delights me.
